Non-Genetic Factors Affecting Production Traits in Murrah Buffaloes

The present investigation was undertaken to estimate the effect of non-genetic factors on different production traits Murrah buffaloes maintained at Buffalo Research Centre, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, India. A total 1128 lactation records 326 buffalo were targeted explore factors. considered for study yield (LY), length (LL), 305 days milk (305 MY), peak (PY), and attain (DAPY). highest CV (%) obtained PY. overall least squares means 2118.10 ± 25.54 kg, 296.60 3.23 days, 2053.88 21.80 11.08 0.08 61.72 1.02 LY, LL, MY, PY DAPY, respectively. period calving revealed a highly significant (P<0.01) except LL. Animals in fourth significantly LY season all under study. Performances animals calved during summer seasons excellent parity DAPY where it non-significant. effects like calving, indicate that adjustment is important accurate unbiased estimates genetic parameters selection superior animals.
